AIR MEDAL WITH "V" DEVICE
Citation

Captain Fuller distinguished himself by heroic actions on 16 April 1967, in the Republic of Vietnam. Captain Fuller was serving as pilot on board a helicopter assigned the mission of conducting an eagle flight in support of an infantry battalion. The command and control ship called the eagle flight into a landing zone and while on final approach, Captain Fuller's aircraft came under intense enemy small arms and automatic weapons fire. The flight was able to land and discharge its troops and upon climbing out of the landing zone, Captain Fuller's aircraft again received enemy small arms and automatic weapons fire. Although the enemy fire had grown in intensity, Captain Fuller demonstrated outstanding professional skill in guiding his helicopter through the hostile fire and succeeded in joining the flight. Captain Fuller's display of courage and determination under intense enemy fire is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, his unit, the 25th Infantry Division, and the United States Army.
